Phamatech Laboratories announces a new test offering, Ethyl Glucuronide (EtG) by immunoassay. A long term (up to 80 hours) metabolite of ethanol, drinking alcohol, EtG is useful in monitoring patients who are required not to drink ethanol, or in detecting ethanol use past the time when ethanol is no longer detectable. Automated immunoassay allows rapid and specific testing at a price much more reasonable than by liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry. (LC/MS or LC/MS/MS). EtG may be conveniently added to urine panels testing for drugs of abuse, or ordered individually.
