Purification and Drug Conjugate Technician

JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for working with protein purification and managing good percentage yields, improved purity and sensitivity. Responsible for making and adjusting conjugate for drugs of abuse and testing products. Responsible for making good products to release to manufacturing. Communicates with other departments to monitor the quality and inventory of the products.

PRINCIPLE ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
♦ In charge in DOA conjugate and purification for manufacturing.
♦ Maintenance and entering products produced documents to Chem lab server. Revising, correcting, and checking batch records and records maintenance.
♦ Contacting vendors, ordering materials, and maintaining inventory levels within the department.
♦ Assisting with equipment maintenance.
♦ Must perform all duties and responsibilities within all quality system guidelines.
♦ Assisting with new employees training.
♦ All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

SPECIAL AUTHORITIES
♦ Responsible for ordering antibodies and lab supplies
♦ Responsible for material and equipment processing.

JOB PROFILE:
SKILLS
Must have the ability to produce buffers and to purify any ascites or serum to produce antibodies. Must understand the reaction of dye or enzymes to conjugate antibodies. Ability to operate and maintain lab equipment preferred. Must have good written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Express required.
Must have the ability to use calculator, pipettes, centrifuge, scanner, spectrophotometer, computer, purification system.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Must have a B.S. in biology, chemistry, or biochemistry with 1-2 years experience working in a related field. Experience with purification, conjugation, and protein reactions required. Must be familiar with working in a laboratory environment and all general safety practices and measures.
