Phamatech Introduces Its Rapid Methaphetamine
Test
Oprah Winfry Show Tracks Methamphetamine Addiction
Showing Devastating Results
Methamphetamine use is reaching epidemic proportions across the United States.
What was initially confined to the Western States has now appeared in almost
every area of the country.
According to a survey by the National Drug Intelligence
Center, for the first time a plurality (40%) of American
counties surveyed reported methamphetamine use as the leading
drug threat. A United Nations study reports that methamphetamine
is the most abused hard drug on earth with more than 26 million
addicts, more than the combined number of cocaine and heroine
addicts. Methamphetamine is called the most addictive drug
in history because it releases the highest number of units
of dopamine, the brain's primary pleasure chemical.
A recent segment of the Oprah Winfrey Show illustrated the
devastating results methamphetamine addiction has on not
only the addict's life, but on the members of the addict's
family as well.
In response to this epidemic, Phamatech, a San Diego based
biotech company introduced a rapid methamphetamine test for
home use. The test can detect use of the drug in about five
to ten minutes. Each test includes a confirmation component
that is performed in a certified laboratory which can verify
positive readings with 98% accuracy eliminating potential
false positive readings. The results are given toll-free
over the phone by counselors who maintain strict confidentially
and provide information and counseling referrals for treatment.
The At-Home Test is presently sold in Walgreens, Rite-Aid
and Kerr Drug Stores.
This test joins the growing number of Phamatech's rapid
At Home Tests, which include the At-Home Marijuana Test,
At-Home Cocaine Test, and a Multi-Panel Test which tests
for marijuana, cocaine, opiates, methamphetamine, ecstasy
and amphetamines.
Phamatech continues in its effort to reduce drug abuse and
provide accessible, confidential and easy to use products
to test for drug use and provide avenues to end addiction.
