Certifying Lab Scientist (Forensic)

Job Description
Phamatech Laboratories & Diagnostic is seeking a talented Certifying Scientist to provide clinical analysis and evaluation of drug of abuse testing for urine and oral fluid specimens. The selected candidate will ensure defensibility of generated data according to CLIA, CAP and SAMSHA requirements. This position reports to the lab manager. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

♦ Data certifications and approval of LC-MS/MS confirmation testing results for reporting
♦ Maintain assay integrity by reviewing QC and calibrators’ performance
♦ Review key summary reports and provide interpretation of lab test results according to prescribed medications
♦ Personal accountability for attendance, productivity, training, and incidents
♦ Strong work ethic, detail oriented, punctual, organized, personable, reliable and dependable
♦ Follow work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals, respond to fluctuating workloads, and improve quality and productivity of laboratory operations
♦ Ensure that all work is complete, accurate and meets our high quality standards

Education and Experience
♦ A bachelor’s degree in the chemical or biological sciences, medical technology, or equivalent
♦ One year experience certifying non-negative (positive) confirmation drug of abuse lab
♦ High degree of computer literacy
♦ Knowledge of Laboratory Information Systems software
♦ Knowledge of CLIA, CAP and SAMSHA highly desirable
♦ Medical terminology highly desirable
