Job Description
Phamatech Laboratories & Diagnostic is seeking a talented GC/MS Operator to provide clinical analysis and evaluation of drug of abuse testing for urine and oral fluid specimens. The selected candidate will ensure defensibility of generated data according to CLIA and SAMSHA requirements. This position reports to the lab manager. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
♦ Analyze environmental samples based on standard operating procedures (SOP s).
♦ Review reported results in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
♦ Prepare standards and reagents.
♦ Performing routine maintenance of equipment and instrumentation.
♦ Promote teamwork with staff.
♦ Review data from other analysts when applicable.
♦ Experience in the identification of mass spectra.
♦ Assisting your supervisor in determining sources of problems (Corrective Action Reports) and implementing corrective actions to resolve those issues.
♦ Must be able to comprehend and follow written instructions, methodologies, procedures, protocols, and policies without deviation.
♦ Keep track of and order supplies for your work in a timely fashion.
♦ Complete general laboratory paperwork in laboratory logbooks, maintenance books, standard books, bench sheets, LIMS etc.
♦ Recommend process improvements to improve department efficiencies.
♦ Keep equipment and work area clean and organized.
♦ Dispose of samples and waste products by procedures found in SOP
♦ Other duties as assigned by your supervisor
Education and Experience
♦ A Bachelor's degree in chemistry, analytical chemistry or related field with a minimum of one year lab experience is required.
♦ Experience with GC/MS and LC/MS/MS is highly desirable. The candidate must be able to work safely with chemicals, instrumentation and equipment
♦ Effective oral and written communication skills are required. Attention to detail, teamwork, strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently are preferred.
♦ High degree of computer literacy
